#973: Springlife Instant Noodles Spinach With Organic Noodles

Here’s one of the packs that came from Australia! Thanks go to Melanie I. of Jannali, NSW for sending these and also thanks to Mark K. for getting her to do it! These are from China but sold in Australia. Looks like something different – let’s check it out.

The distributor’s sticker.

The back of the package (click image to enlarge). I went with the second set of instructions.

The noodle block – in it’s own cellophane.

A large seasoning packet.

Interestingly light powder.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added baked chicken, broccoli, sweet onion, green bell pepper, garlic salt and Urashima Sesame & Salt furikake. The noodles are very nice – great texture and feel. The broth definitely tastes of spinach, but it ends there. It’s not very salty at all, which can be good and bad. Good is that you can add your own, bad is if you don’t have any. I go with the base product of course on my reviews and this is some bland stuff. 3.0 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 6931162280921 .

Something completely unrelated – Robocop shows up for dinner in Korea…

#961: Trident Chow Mein Soft Noodles

Here’s one of the packs that came from Australia! Thanks go to Melanie I. of Jannali, NSW for sending these and also thanks to Mark K. for getting her to do it! The last one was a ‘2 Minute Noodle’ while this one says they’re soft noodles. I wonder what the difference is?

Here’s the back of the pack and the answer to my above question (click image to enlarge). These get drained and then the seasonings stirred in.

The main chunk of the noodle block.

Powdered seasoning.

Not a huge amount.

Seasoned oil packet.

The oil has a light onion scent.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added baked chicken, fried egg, stir fry veggies and some Krazy Mixed Up Salt. The noodles aren’t bad – flat and thin. The glavoring however is kind of boring; not like any chow mein instant I’ve had before. 2.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 93101182300043

#948: Trident Hot & Spicy 2 Minute Noodles

Hey check this out! This is the first ever package of instant noodles I’ve reviewed from Australia! Thanks go to Melanie I. of Jannali, NSW for sending these and also thanks to Mark K. for getting her to do it! This is an interesting pack – let’s check it out!

Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge). I really like how in the lower left corner it tells you to “Beware – chili powder is very hot.” A spiciness warning on a pack of noodles that isn’t from Korea! Wow!

The noodle block. On the pack they call it a ‘cake.’

The dry seasoning powder.

Interesting – has a sweet and citrussy flavor to it – I did notice that it says this stuff was made in Thailand for Trident – I wonder if this will be Tom Yum like?

Seasoned oil eh?

Looks more like a paste to me – has a definitespiciness and yet a little more citrus hints.

Finally, we have the one we were told to beware – the chili powder packet. It’s actually much smaller than the other two.

A little taste and… bah – you call that hot? Actually, yes it is pretty hot and – wow it kind of creeps up on you! Okay yeah this is spicy chili powder!

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added onion, green bell pepper, ham with some Apinya Thai Chili sauce on top (check it out here), and a sprinkle of Urashima Sesame & Salt furikake. The noodles were good – what you’d expect in a pack of instant noodles. The broth was excellent and as I expected, it was full of heat and citrus and definitely a Tom Yum flavor. Great stuff – 3.5 out of 5.0 stars! I also want to mention the hot sauce. Apinya sent me a sample the other day and I’ve really fallen for this amazing concoction! It blends the heat of peppers and the crisp depth of ginger in a great way – it’s definitely a premium hot sauce and if I were still running The Sauce Rater, it would get 5.0/5.0 hot peppers! UPC bar code 9310182300012 .

Couldn’t find much on YouTube about this brand but here’s a train going by in JAnnali, NSW Australia!
