#195: Myojo Chukazanmai Noodles served cool with sesame-flavored rice-vinegar sauce Sesame Flavor

Okay here’s some that I’ve been sitting on for a while. So these are to be served cool – so we’ll see if they’re any good.

A big packet of liquid and a smaller packet of liquid…

So the bulk here is the big packet – a sweet sesame dressing. The little one? Hot mustard!

It said on the back to serve with sliced cucumber, tomato and ham. Well, I had some ham so I tossed some in. So this stuff is pretty good! Kind of sweet and vinegary and with a touch of mustard taste. The noodles are cool and wet (drained and rinsed with cold water) and a little slimy but not gross. I think this is good stuff but not something I’d have again. Maybe but probably not. I’m giving this one a 3.0 out of 5.0 stars – it is unique and interesting and enjoyable, but not my kind of ‘regular’ noodle choice. Get it here.

#184: Myojo Chukazanmai Japanese Style Noodles With Soup Base Soy Sauce Flavor

Some more of the Myojo Chukazanmai. It’s still on sale!

A powder and a liquid…

Hmmm… Looks interesting…

So this is quite good. The broth is very tasty and seems more traditional. The noodles are chewy and very enjoyable. There are little bits of some green onion here and there that have a nice taste. Long story short, I like this stuff – I’m giving it a 3.75 out of 5.0 stars – very pleasant and simple. Find it here.

#182: Myojo Chukazanmai Japanese Style Noodles With Soup Base

Looks interesting – so far I have really enjoyed this line by Myojo quite a bit. Seems pretty gourmet…

A powdered packet and an liquid packet…

So the liquid is oil and thick soy sauce – very nice.

So the noodles are very nice – they have backbone and require a chew or two. Very competent out of the gate. The broth is pretty good – sweet and slightly spicy.  I like this stuff but it didn’t stack up to the others I had in this line. I’m tossin it a 3.25 out of 5.0 stars.

#170: Myojo Chukazanmai Japanese Style Noodles With Soup Base Soybean Paste Flavor

Second one of these I’ve tried…

Some dry powder, some goopy stuff which I figure is soybean paste.

And yes – it was soybean paste and sesame oil. I must admit it was one of the harder packets of goop that I’ve dispensed.

The noodles were decent and had some characteristic firmness I enjoy. The broth was delightful – full of complexities I would describe as deep. Some sesame seeds, sesame oil beads dancing atop the soup and the soybean paste flavor rounding it out. Tasted like some kind of meal I would expect to have in a nice place by the water. I’m giving this one 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. It was pretty great stuff! Get it here.
