#592: Batchelors Super Noodles Mild Curry Flavour

Hey awesome – curry’s one of my favorites!  I’m thinking since my wife made the finest turkey yesterday that I’ve ever had the fortune of eating, I’d try to fuse that with this and toss an egg in. Here we go!

Here’s the back of the package – looks like some good stuff’ll be cookin in a minute!

Here’s the packet…

…and its contents.

Finished. I added one fried eggs with a dash of Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning and a little of the turkey my wife Kit made – those little vegetable looking bits? Rosemary. So the noodles were about par with Top Ramen. The flavoring wasn’t bad, but when they said mild curry they weren’t kidding – very mild. Anyways, not bad. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars. Get it here.

#575: Batchelors Super Noodles Barbecue Beef Flavour

Here we go – I didn’t get to making anything to eat today until around 6pm so I thought this sounded filling. Thanks to Cindy C. from Middlesex, England for donating these!

Here’s the  back on the packaging….

I’m still completely awestruck with the simple genius of putting diffrent reipes on the packets. I could see this being a serious collecting thing over here.

The powder is waiting, the powder is waiting.

I added a couple of fried eggs which I sprinkled some Krazy Mixed Up Salt on. The noodles are pretty good – like cheap instant noodle noodles. The barbecue flavor? Well, it’s good but not overpowering. I see that there are versions of Super Noodles with ‘sauce’ – I wonder if they’re a little stronger… Anyways, this is pretty good stuff. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars! You can try it here.

Kelloggs eh?

Okay a quick pause from Thanksgiving.

#562: Batchelors Super Noodles Bacon Flavour

When I mentioned I would be reviewing this to my friend Matthew B., he exclaimed ‘bacon is the opiate of the masses!’ I would have to agree; there is nothing on this planet as good as the prince of foods, bacon. With that, I present for your viewing pleasure, bacon flavored British instant noodles. Thanks again, Cindy!

Yep – bacon flavor! How awesome is that? Mentioning hot sauce on the back was nice to see too!

Here’s the back of the package – this one isn’t one of the ‘cash inside’ contest ones.

The single packet contained a goodly amount of fluffy yellow/brownish powder. Smelled like bacon too!

I think its pretty obvious; I like eggs with my noodles. But I also had to put some toast in the mix on this one to make it a balanced breakfast. Just looking at the noodles themselves, they were of a decent quality, and the sauce/flavor was great! A mild bacon flavor that was quite enjoyable – how awesome is this? Uber awesome. 4.25 out of 5.0 stars! Pick some up here.

#555: Batchelor’s Super Noodles Chinese Chow Mein Flavour

Hey! Some more noodles I got from Cindy C. of Middlesex, UK! Thanks again! So this one’s Chinese Chow Mein. It’s also promising the possibility of currency inside the packet!

Another tip! I really dig this a lot.

Notice on these directions they don’t refer to it as a stovetgop but as ‘on the hob.’ Can someone post a comment if they know about this term?

A mound of powder. I must admit it sure has a funky odor; although it’s somewhat familiar…

The finished product. I figured out what this flavor is – I even have a story. When I was much younger, I would go out and party up a bit and return home late. I’d quietly climb the stairs to the kitchen so I wouldn’t wake anyone up and sequester myself in there, attempting to find a midnight snack. More than once I would take a can of Campbell’s soup – often Vegetable, and a pack of Top Ramen and make it together, then bring it back downstairs and ingest it. Well, that’s what this stuff reminds me of. Unfortunately, it wasn’t all that great then and it isn’t all that great now, except it reminded me of old times, which in itself was nice, but can’t be part of the score really. So this one is going to rate at 2.75 out of 5.0 stars.

A couple of commercials…

#551: Batchelor’s Super Noodles Chicken Flavour

Here we are with another one from England. Looks interesting! Chicken. The flavor that’s usually very boring. Well, let’s see what comes of this one.

Okay first off, this is the first paper packet I’ve ever seen in a noodle pack. Secondly, that tip is a little crazy I do however have an interest in trying that though!

A small pile of yellow powder. So you boil it and the noodles in 300mL water until the noodles suck up all the liquid. It says it’s a noodle and sauce.

How not as I expected this one to be…  The noodles are dare I say ‘fluffy.’ The chicken flavoring is good – the sauce is like a light flavored chicken Rice-a-Roni taste! It works quite well. I liked it – 3.25 out of 5.0 stars. Get it here.

Hey this is festive…
