#954: Meet The Manufacturer: Sakurai Foods – ARCHE Naturküche Japanische Nudelsuppe mit Ingwer (Japanese Noodle Soup With Ginger)

I know what you’re thinking – “hey – I thought this was a Sakurai Foods Meet The Manufacturer!” Well, it still is. Sakurai Foods also makes products for export and this is one of them. These noodles are for sale in Germany! Never tried noodles from Germany before, regardless of where they are made! This is a real treat. Let’s check out this exotic variety!

Here is the back of the package (click image to enlarge). Says to cook in 400mL of water for six minutes!

This is a rather unique noodle block. First, it is dense and has some weight to it. Second, it is quite thin – about half the thickness of most varieties. These noodles aren’t the kinf you would want to eat raw; they’re hard.

The seasoning packet – which is liquid.

I’m very curious about how this will turn out. Has a very nice smell – ginger is definitely a component, which makes me quite happy.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added hard boiled egg, kizami shoga (pickled ginger, Krazy Mixed Up Salt and Urashima Sesame & Salt furikake. The noodles are very good – nice chewiness and width. The broth is good – very strong taste to it. Kind of a miso going on. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 4020943134309.

Has a very nice flavor of soy, a light sweetness and a tasty saltiness. I can tell this is going to be good stuff!
