#986: Paldo Jong-gah-jip Kimchi Ramen

Here’s one that was sent by Sungmin over at Paldo America – thank you! This is a new variety that just came out in South Korea. The name ‘Jong-gah-jip’ is of a well-known kimchi producer. Let’s give this a try!

Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge).

The noodle block.

The seasoning packet.

The powder is nice – salty and spicy, but not spicy in the extreme. Has a nice richness to it.

The vegetable packet.

A nice little variety.

We went to KS Mart yesterday. KS Mart is in the Lynnwood, Washington area on 172nd and 99.

It’s been a while since I’ve had any kimchi on hand, so it was time to get a jar! I’ve samples store-made varieties around this area and I would say my favorite’s made at KS Mart. Gotta put kimchi in kimchi ramyun, right?

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added kimchi, sweet onion, an egg and processed cheese. The noodles are your typical Paldo fare – nice amount and really tasty and wide. The broth is nice and rich with a strong flavor of gochujang and other seasonings. The veggies are good too. Good stuff! 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 8809296881537.

Here’s the rad Namja TV commercial!

Re-Review: Meet The Manufacturer: Paldo King Cup Kimchi Pot Stew Instant Noodle

Hey rad – a big cup of kimchi noodles! I’m a big fan of kimchi these days and hoping this is just what the doctor ordered today!

Side panels.

A nice looking noodle block.

Powder seasoning.

Lots of the red stuff!

Lots of veggies in the bottom.

I’m sure Korean folks who see this will say big deal, especially since these exist! But recently we got the big jar of kimchi! It takes up a lot of our fridge – and it’s worth it!

Finished. Added some kimchi and some roast beef with a touch of Krazy Mixed Up Salt. The noodles are of that nice soft and buttery type – I must say that in the varieties so far, it sure seems like Paldo varies the types of noodles it puts in its products quite a bit. The broth is great – salty, spicy and has that nice flavor of kimchi. The veggies are great too – re-hydrated very well. This is a great bowl of noodles! 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 648436100385 – get it here.

#692: Samyang Savory Vegetable Flavor Assorted Vegetable Ramen

Here’s another one from Ramen Place! I’ve tried the cup version which just said 60 Ingredients, but it’s got to be the same thing here, just in a pack. Let’s give it a try!

Here’s the back of the package.

Here’s the noodle block – a big one.

Powder seasoning pack.

Lots of angry reddish powder! Grrr!!!

Vegetable pack – good sized too!

Loads of nice looking veggies!

Finished. I added some Bird’s Eye Stir Fry veggies, an egg which I boiled with the noodles, a little pinch of cheese and some Ajishima Kim Chi furikake! So starting with the noodles: chewy and very Korean. A slightly wider gauge than a regular instant noodle and a better quality noodle. The broth is great – a nice vegetable flavor and a good spiciness to it. The veggies were appropriately everywhere and re-hydrated nicely. I liked this one – and then I added all my stuff to it and it was even better! Good stuff – 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC barcode 8801073110168 – get it here.

#657: Dragonfly Instant Noodles Onion Flavor

Another pack of Dragonfly brand noodles from China… Onion was great in a big bowl version – how will it be in a pack? Let’s see…

Here’s the back of the packaging.

Three packets – clockwise from top left we have seasoned oil, powder seasoning and veggies.

Here are the seasonings on a plate – the oil was very aromatic and had a very nice onion scent.

Alas, our poor noodle block has been broken in transit from store to home! Here’s a small chunk of it.

Finished! I added an egg while cooking the noodles. Got a little baby bok choy to toss in at 99 Ranch Market as well as some Ajishima Kimchi Furikake rice seasoning. The noodles were very nice as usual. The onion flavor was perfectly balanced with the saltiness of the broth; not overpowering and not weak.  The veggies were regular but not extremely abundant. Good bowl of noodles – 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC barcode 721557450949 .

The Texas Onion Festival 2011 – This looks like a rad place to go get onion rings!

Booker T. & The M.G.s doing ‘Green Onions’ – I got to see these guys in the 90’s at Bumbershoot for maybe 20 minutes – was awesome!

#348: Paldo Bowl Noodle Soup Kimchi Flavor

So here’s another one of these by Paldo. It shall be today’s breakfast/lunch.

One solitary packet of love.

Mount Kimchi Flavoring! Behold all of its glory!

So I added a slice of oven roasted turkey breast lunch meat. So there are veggies – just in the bottom of the bowl on this one. The noodles sat for about 8 minutes and I thought that made them extra good. The broth was nice and spicy too, and the veggies were crisp. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars – a good lunch. Find it here.

These guys are easily scared by noodles.

This looks like good food!
