Here’s the first review of the Sun Noodle Meet The Manufacturer spotlight, their Yakisoba. Yakisoba is one of my favorite Japanese noodle dishes. What’s nice is that the flavoring contains one of my favorite flavors – Worcestershire sauce!

Has a great aroma of Worcestshire and has a nice taste.
Finished (click image to enlarge). Added chicken, sweet onion, broccoli and green bell pepper. Also added kizami shoga (pickled ginger) and Urashima Sesame & Salt furikake. the noodles are remarkable – nice and mellow and really good. Definitely fresh stuff! Finished (click image to enlarge). Added sweet onions, light ham and Urashima Sesame & Salt furikake. The noodles are pretty standard ramyun noodles. The seasoning powder that stirs in has a light sweet’n’salty taste. The spaghetti sauce? Sweet and just a little spicy. The veggies are decent. Where are the noodles you say? Well, Pot Noodle is much different from what you would find here in the States. The noodles are underneath all of the powder, which is mostly wheat flour. The usual broth you would expect in a cup of noodles is more of a sauce or gravy here.
Pot noodles usually come with a single packet such as you see here (front and back). Make the noodles, add some sauce.

The noodles are your standard Pot Noodle fare; broad and flat with a crumbliness and slight chew. The sauce has a nice taste to it – sweet with a very light spicy factor. They are a couple of the many people who have been extra kind and sent varieties that I haven’t ever reviewed my way. No way I could find this one here in the states! So what is Jamaican Jerk flavor anyways? I asked Wikipedia:

Unlike a cup noodle that one would find here in the states, Pot Noodle is more of a noodles and sauce kind of thing. The sauce comes from all this powder. Much of it is wheat flour.
They also include a packet of some sauce or another. This one has mango sauce.

The noodles have that trademark wide flat shape and thick chewiness and slight crumble. The broth (really a sauce) has an interesting taste. Kind of a bitter and salty flavor with some interesting spices going on. Kind of reminiscent of curry. We went to Walmart on Black Friday! Well, let me explain – it was at 6pm or so, so the amount of crazy people was lower. It seems though that the Walmart we always go to has a surplus of crazy people usually. I imagine the early morning Black Friday folks would’ve been a scary lot. One thing I noticed was that they hadn’t bought all of the noodles, so I thought I’d get a couple to re-review. Here’s one of them last time I tried it, it was revirew #207. Hoping some new things to review come soon – only have one in the hamper that’s needing review… Re-reviews are fun though since they’re not been visited in so long.

The noodle block. Decently sized with a little more weight than I usually find in domestic packs. The noodles when sampled uncooked are a little different too – pretty good.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added stir fry veggies, hard boiled egg with Cavender’s Greek Seasoning, Thanksgiving turkey (the very last bits of it) and some Urashima Sesame & Salt furikake. The noodles are good – large amoung and decent gauge. The broth is good too – strong soy and salt flavor. Good stuff! 3.5 out of 5.0 stars! UPC bar code 076186000011 – get it here!
