#588: Vifon Tu Quy Instant Noodle Pork Flavor

Hey cool I didn’t realize I still had one of these left! I liked this line of Vifon stuff!

Here’s the back of the package!

Dry powder soup base on left, seasoned oil on right.

So you put boiling water in with it and let it steep.

The noodles were pretty good – a little spongy. The ‘unique taste’ that was mentioned on the front? Well, this stuff really reminded me of duck flavored instant noodles I’ve had recently. Didn’t make me exclaim ‘pork.’  Kind of bummed. 2.75 out of 5.0 stars.

Here’s a commercial for this stuff.

Not sure what its about but I think its Vietnamese.

#467: Vifon Tu Quy Sour & Spicy Shrimp Flavor Instant Noodle

It certainly looks like shrimp and very enjoyable in the picture. I wonder how it will taste though. That’s kind of the question I ask myself 50% of the time. The other 50% is kind of a oh look it’s chicken this should be chicken like. This on the other hand is Vietnamese, and sour and spicy and shrimp. So we shall see…

Powder packet and seasoned oil packet. Kind of a dilemma here; was going to possibly go a little easy on the heat this morning as I don’t really want to deal with heartburn later, but the heat’s not in it’s own packet so I guess I’ll just have to go full steam ahead on this one!

Looks interesting… No idea how it will taste though…

So I added two fried eggs. I like the texture of the noodles. The flavor is a little weird though – I must say kind of like tomato, basil and carbon paper scent. Yeah this isn’t really very good in my opinion. A very strange flavor. 1.75 out of 5.0 stars.

A commercial for this product!

I usually use some spray olive oil – that seems like a lot of oil they’re using. By the way for those stateside, groundnut oil is peanut oil.

#417: Vifon Tứ Quý Mì Bò Cay Spicy Beef Flavor Instant Noodle

Some spicy beef this morning for breakfast. Really hoping its good stuff! I guess we’ll see.

Seasoned oil on left, powder seasoning on right. I figure the spicy is in the oil.

Bring on the noodles!

With two eggs, fried and topped with a little Lindberg-Snider Red Baron Barbecue Seasoning. Good stuff. The broth was tasty – slightly spicy and had an almost braised beef flavor to it. The noodles had good character too. Even with thde oil packet, this one wasn’t super greasy. All in all a tasty breakfast! 3.5 out of 5.0 stars.

AAAAAAHHH! Vifon!!!

This was found when I searched for “mystery booger.”
