Yep – another re-review! Had this one back in February of this year for #658. Today I felt like something spicy from Korea!

The noodle block.
The seasoning packet.
Lots of spicy powder! Yes!
Some (not all) of the veggies from the bottom of the cup.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added thin rib eye, onion, stir fry veggies, kimchi and processed cheese. The noodles are good – nice gauge and chew and plenty of them. The broth is hot and spicy and has a nice asftertaste. The veggies are pretty good too. I like it – 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 648436100620 – get the pack version here.
It’s been quite a while since I’ve had this one – thought it’d be a good one to finish Meet The Manufacturer: Paldo with. Hot day, cold noodles. I should also mention the last time I had this was review #118 – over 700 packs ago – and my tastes have changed a bit. I’m happy to say I like cold noodles nowadays.
Back of the package. Note the instructions on this one.
The noodle block – they look thinner.
Here’s the soup base you mix in.
Finished. Added some chicken, Fresno chile peppers, a hard boiled egg and some Krazy Mixed Up Salt. Noodles are nice and are indeed thinner than the usual fare. The flavoring of the meal is great – sweet and spicy with a good flavor. Much more enjoyable this time around. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars.UPC bar code 648436100057 – get it here.
Old Bibim Men commercial
Korean baseball fight is what it says – I think they’re taunting eachother
Here’s another interesting one – Jjajangmen. The last time I reviewed this, I had mixed it in like it mentions on the back. This time, I’m going to put it on top like in the picture!
Back of the package.
Looks like a big block of thick noodles.
A big packet of sauce. This isn’t a soup base – it’s a sauce.
Finished. Noodles are very chewy and the sauce is awesome; it seems like it’s beef laden but there’s no beef here. A very hearty and tasty meal! 4.0 out of 5.0 stars.UPC bar code 648436100590 .
Here’s Paldo’s standard hot & spicy variety. Today and tomorrow are supposed to be the hottest days of the year here in the northwest – temps are supposed to hit 94 degrees today and 96 tomorrow. Hot and spicy sounds just about right! What’s Hwa though? Couldn’t figure that one out but here’s what the health info on soy peptide is! Anyways – I’m hungry – time to noodle it up!

Salty and spicy stuff!
The veggies!
Looks like a decent amount.
Finished. Added some kimchi, an egg, chicken and some Krazy Mixed Up Salt. The noodles are great – plentiful and nice gauge/texture. The broth has a strong spiciness to it with a nice flavor – not just hot but good taste as well. The veggies aren’t bad – and easily found. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars.UPC bar code 648436100422 – get it here.
Ouch…
Wow – what are they wearing on their heads? Go Lotte Giants!
Oh man I’m thoroughly ticked off. Melky Cabrera just got caught taking testosterone and now is out for 50 games. I’m a huge SF Giants fan and this is just painful. Just went to my first game a few weeks ago too. Feel kind of cheated in a way. Anyways, no reason that jerk’s gonna mess up my noodle day! This is something I’ve never even heard of! Seolleongtangmyeon? I looked it up on Wikipedia:
Seolleongtang is a Korean broth tang (soup) made from ox bones (mostly leg bones), brisket and other cuts. Seasoning is generally done at the table according to personal taste by adding salt, ground black pepper, red pepper, minced garlic, or chopped spring onions. It is a local dish of Seoul.[1]
Seolleongtang is typically simmered over a low flame over a period of several hours to an entire day, to allow the flavor to be gradually extracted from the bones. It has a milky off-white, cloudy appearance and is normally eaten together with rice and several side dishes; the rice is sometimes added directly to the soup.[2]
Sounds kind of like the Gomtang but different perhaps. I added the myeon at the end as it’s made with noodles where the traditional seolleongtang is not. If this is totally wrong, I wouldn’t be surprised; I think I’m trying to translate and make up a word I’m probably not correct in doing! Well, this should be interesting – something new!
Here’s the back of the package.
A slightly different noodle block – thinner noodles I think.
A liquid base packet.
Thick and cloudy with an interesting color and scent.
The veggie packet.
A nice little menagerie of veggies.
Finished. Added some veggies, roast beef, crushed garlic and Krazy Mixed Up Salt. The noodles seem slightly softer than the usual ones they make, but not spongy or mushy by any means. The broth is light and has a nice flavor to it. The veggies aren’t bad. Pretty good stuff – 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 880128509442 .
