#524: Nissin Cup Noodles Spicy Seafood Flavor Instant Ramen Noodles ( Hong Kong )

Whilst digging through my bin of packages of instant noodles for a particular one I was sent to review tomorrow, I realized I wasn’t hungry for a big pack tonight so went for the cup noodle you see here. Spicy seafood sounds relaxing.

As you can see, this ain’t your regular local supermarket cup noodle.

You can really tell the difference when you peel back the lid. Lots and lots of additions in this cup. Cuttlefish, clams, bonito, sardines… Nondairy creamer?! Yep – some interesting ingredients!

Here we are. The noodles were nice for a cup – tasty and full of flavor from the broth. The broth itself is a little salty but flavorful and just the right amount of spicy. The veggies and bits of fish stuffs were abundant and enjoyable. Fine cup of noodles! 3.75 of 5.0 stars.

Here’s a commercial for the non-spicy version.

Will be reviewing some of this stuff VERY soon! Keep you posted…

#391: Myojo Hyoubanya no Chukasoba Japanese Style Noodles Oriental Flavor

So on our recent trip to the new Bellevue Uwajimaya, we got a 5-pack of this stuff. My lady Kit really enjoyed the Myojo Charmela stuff so I thought maybe this would be something she would like too.

One packet.  A sleek and awesome packet of Japanese-ness.

The powder of the packet in the bowl awaiting the noodles.

Wow that sure looks lovely! A couple of eggs and some baked chicken breast with salt and pepper. The soup was amazingly good – had nice fish flavor. The noodles were robust and had some good chewiness. Altogether, it was a fine dinner. 4.25 out of 5.0 stars.

#286: Myojo Hyoubanya No Yakisoba Japanese Style Noodles Oriental Flavor

So here’s a nice box of Myojo yakisoba aching to be eaten.

Nice design – fill the water, let it sit, pull off the drain, pour out the water. Pretty easy.

Clockwise from top left: seasoned oil, dry seasoning, garnish and dried vegetables.

The dried vegetables are ample – but all they are is cabbage. Not that I’m really complaining as I’m a friend to cabbage.

So boiling water, sit and drained. Here are the noodles with the remaining packets awaiting a stir. The dark one is the garnish – dried bonito powder, red pickled ginger and green laver – ah, green laver…

So here is the finished product. The noodles are decent. The cabbage is ample for sure. The flavor is interesting – the oil and the powder are somewhat subdued by the garnish – which was really decent. I liked it a whole lot and am giving this one 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. Get it here.

So found another Myojo commercial – surprised they’re so far and few between with how popular they are.

#185: Shirakiku Fresh Japanese Style Udon Sanukiya Udon

MMMMMM – fresh udon! Plus, its being enjoyed while we watch the Maury show and watch people yell and freak out at eachother.

So the noodles and liquid go in the bowl with water and gets microwaved for 3 minutes. After that, some stirring and the flake packet go in…

So here’s the finished product… Good stuff! First off, if you get the backstage hug from Maury Povich, you know you’ve fucked up. Well, no hugs for the Shirakiku Sanukiya Udon! This stuff is very tasty. The noodles are chewy and ample. The veggies are a little mushy but have a nice taste, and the broth is perfect. I’m giving this a 3.75 out of 5.0 stars – it has some serious tasty flavor! Get it here.

#148: Myojo Japanese Style Noodles With Soup Base Okinawa Soba

So been really wanting to try this one! Okinawa soba! We needed to spend a little more for the parking validation at Uwajimaya so this looked good! It’s a 5 pack – haven’t see anywhere selling individuals.

Here is an individual pack of noodles…

Two packets – powder and chili flakes.

So the powder contains some fish extract and was quite good – mackerel, salmon, bonito, tuna… Was quite a crowd of fish.

So here’s the finished product. I found the noodles to be absolutely superb – chewy and flat. The broth was complex and had a great smell and taste. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. Very good! Get it here.
