Re-Review: Myojo Ippei-chan Yakisoba Japanese Style Noodles

I’ve been going through the reviews I’ve done over the years with a fine-toothed comb lately and thought this one was most definitely due to a re-review. I know a lot of people enjoy this one, so let’s give it an in-depth look!

Here’s a close-up of the side panels (click image to enlarge).

Here’s the lid (click image to enlarge).

The noodle block.

The main seasoning packet – liquid.

Has a very nice smell – I definitely notice a tuna scent.

A nice sized sachet of veggies.

Lots of leafy greens in here!

A little packet of spices.

Interesting – not sure what all it is.

The finishing touch – this stuff gets drizzled all over everything at the end.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added stir fry vegetables, sweet onions, kizami shoga (pickled ginger, narutomaki (fish cake – the ones with the spirals), kamaboko (anoth kind of fish cake – the pink half circles), and Urashima Sesame & Salt furikake. This is amazing stuff. The noodles come out so nicely (and authentically). The flavoring is great. Tastes just like yakisoba sauce (which I’m sure it is), which has a Worcestshire taste with other flavors mixed in like tuna. The veggies? Crunchy cabbage works very well. The finishing touch of the mayonnaise mustard is epic – gives it a nice moistness that has a crisp spicy bite. This stuff is excellent – definitely something I would consider gourmet or premium. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 011152012469 – get it here.

Re-Review: Indomie Mi Instan Rasa Mi Cakalang

Of the re-reviews I’ve done recently, I would say this is one of the most recent. Here’s the link for it’s first review, #858. Cakalang is also known as Skipjack tuna.

Finished (click to enlarge). I added some sweet onion, a fried egg with some Krazy Mixed Up Salt and Dua Belibis chili sauce. This stuff packs from heat! The noodles are your standard Indomie – nice texture and spring. The broth is spicy and has a nice tuna flavor along. There was a packet of garnish, which was dried tuna bits and was quite tasty. I like this a lot! 4.5 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 08968604302 .

#858: Indomie Mi Instan Rasa Mi Cakalang

Haven’t had an Indomie in a while! This one’s Cakalang. Cakalang is also known as Skipjack tuna. Been looking forward to this.

Back of the packaging. Anybody know if that mention of Indomie Kreasi – just a recipe or another product altogether? Click to enlarge.

The noodle block.

Powdered base and chili powder.

Here’s the chili atop of the seasoning powder.

You guessed it – seasoned oil!

A little bit of color.

What’s this?

Powdered tuna!

Finished. Added onion, red bell pepper, broccoli, and a fried egg with Dua Belibis and Krazy Mixed Up Salt. The noodles are good – chewier than usual Indomie – and good! The broth is spicy and has a unique seafood taste. This is great stuff! 4.5 out of 5.0 stars – excellent Indomie! UPC bar code 08968604302 .

#442: Nong Shim Kal Guk Soo Korean Style Noodle Soup

Okay so I reviewed Samyang’s Kalgugsu a long time ago and it said it was assorted clam flavored noodle soup. This one just says its Korean noodle soup, however its got mussels, anchovy, bonito, shrimp tunaand mushroom going on too. I wouldn’t call it assorted clam flavor this time around – more like assorted flavor flavor.

Veggies on the left, powder on the right.

Lots of stuff! So this one asked for 2 3/4 cups of water and to be cooked for six minutes!!!

Added two eggs to the boiling noodles while cooking. So first off, the noodles are very nice – high in quality and chewiness. The broth was good and hearty and the veggies were plentiful. I liked the flavor and body of the meal, and rating it accordingly. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars.

#328: Nong Shim Big Bowl Udon Japanese Style Noodle Soup

Ladies and gentlemen, the enormous Ramen Box has been opened and we begin. This one comes from Korea.

A single packet of powdered soup base.

Holy cow look at this one! There’s the big pile of seasoning powder in the middle, but look at all this other stuff! Wow, I’m thoroughly impressed – I wasn’t expecting to see this much stuff going on here. Neat little naruto slices, sliced fish stuff, and fried somethings. I would love to know what all these things are! Lots of veggies too – carrot and onion and more.

Bamm finished product. Mmm… The noodles are nice – chewy and thick… Was nice to find a lot of pieces of fish and veggies with every bite! This is a rarity in the instant noodle world I assure you. The broth had a very nice seafood taste and was very nice. I really was impressed with this one and give it 4.5 out of 5.0 stars! Get it here.
