Re-Review: FMF Chow Tomato Flavour Instant Noodle

Thanks again to Joseph H. of Sacramento, California for sending these! Reviewed these as #895. Sounded good today so here we go!

Finished (click to enlarge). I added green beans, turkey ham, a couple scrambled egg with Tabasco Jalapeno sauce and a slice of cheese. Awesome stuff! Great tomato flavor. Still 4.25 out of 5.0 stars! UPC bar code 9416470239603 .

Looked up Fiji and 1977 (figuring I’d find some music) but found this full length cartoon film made in part by the Hello Kitty people…

The International Lunch

Here’s what I had for lunch today (click to enlarge) – not a new review or anything, but thought it was interesting how many international flavors came together on this one. First, FMF Chow Noodles Masala Flavor from Fiji. Added kimchi, a Korean dish, some Urashima Sesame & Salt furikake from Japan, Dua Belibis chili sauce from Indonesia, some ham, stirfry veggies and sweet onion, and a 2 egg omelet with 2 slices of processed cheese and some Tabasco Jalapeno hot sauce – which I presume is all from the United States but might not be. Was pretty good – quite an interesting combo!

By the way – it’s not Talk Like A Pirate Day, HOWEVER it is International Day of Rural Women, I Love Lucy Day, National Cake Decorating Day, National Clean Your Virtual Desktop Day, National Grouch Day, National Latino AIDS Awareness Day, National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day and White Cane Safety Day.

The lone seasoning packet.

The seasoning. A little taste resulted in a lot of tomato flavor and a little heat.

Finished. Added some tomatoes and a hard boiled egg with some Krazy Mixed Up Salt. The noodles were good – a little plump and crumbly – worked very well. The broth was awesome – a strong tomato taste and color. The smell of the broth as it boiled was one of tomatoes. It also had a very nice light spiciness to it. All said and done this was absolutely delicious. 4.25 out of 5.0 stars! UPC bar code 9416470239603 .

#897: FMF Chow Masala Flavour Instant Noodles

Here’s a new one to me on a couple fronts. First, special thanks to Joseph H. of Sacramento, California for this great donation. so what’s interesting about this one? Well, it’s the first FMF Chow I’ve ever even seen. Secondly, this stuff is made in of all places Fiji! Yup – Fijian instant noodles! Awesome! Let’s give it a try!

Here’s the powder itself. Has a nice masala scent to it.

Finished. Added a hard boiled egg with Cavendar’s Greek seasoning, yellow onion, broccoli, green bell pepper and baked chicken with Lindberg-Snider Red Baron BBQ spice. The noodles are slightly different; they are a lot like your domestic instant noodle except that they have a slight crumble to them and an almost chewiness. They are rather plump as well which is nice as far as the comfort-food element goes. The masala flavor is really nice – a little spicy and a good hearty broth. One thing that was interesting with this one is that the directions mention between 375 and 500mL of water – it might not seem like it, but a 1/2 cup is quite a bit when it comes to noodle making. This one had probably 450mL of water added. Anyways, this is good – a nice eastern taste from Fiji. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 9416470238606 .
