#812: Master Kong/康师傅 Spicy Beef

Spicy beef! This was sent by Bo H. of China! Thanks again! These have all been a lot of fun and quite good! Let’s see how Master Kong’s Spicy Beef goes.

The back of the package. Looks like they grow big peppers in china.

The block broke but not too badly.

Powdered base.

A decent amount of powder – tasty!

Seasoned oil.

Has a beefish smell.

The veggie packet – more of an herb packet it looks like.

I think the red pieces are chillies. Not sure about the other bits.

Finished. I added some onions, broccoli and re bell pepper, a slice of processed cheese, a fried egg and some of that awesome Dua Belibis hot sauce. The noodles are good – they suck up a lot of liquid and are tasty to boot. The broth is nice too – had a spicy and sweet taste to it and the beef flavor is very good. I like this a lot – 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 6903252061024 .

Yes! Awesome commercial!

This is awesome – these guys aren’t screwing around with these noodles!

Awesome Donation From China

Bo H., who lives abroad in China decided he’d send some nice Chinese varieties! He warned that it might take a long time – they were shipped May 8th and arrive today, June 27th!

Oh wow what’s in here?

Wow – they did REALLY well despite travelling for a month and a half in the mail! Most are Master Kong, one is Unif and one I’m not sure. Hoping these can get translated – I want to make sure they’re prepared correctly and to know what they are! Thank you very much, Bo! Some Ramen Ramter stickers will be on their way to you soon!

Re-Review: Meet The Manufacturer: Nongshim Shin Ramyun Shrimp Flavor

Here’s another of the Nongshim Shin Ramyun variants – shrimp flavor! This one was picked up for me by my sister in Canada. So far, I’ve been reviewing packs and cups from Korea and the United States by Nongshim. This one was made in China. I liked it a lot before – let’s have it again! Yay!

Here’s the back of the packaging. You can see that it’s made in Shanghai.

This is a pretty good-sized noodle block.

A big packet of…

…spicy red seasoning!

The veggies.

Not a lot of them. Wish there were a few more.

Finished! Added oeang, Frsno peppers, broccoli, onion, snap peas, water chestnuts, green bell pepper, a slice of processed cheese and some Tabasco Buffalo Style hot sauce. Great noodles, wonderful seafood soup taste. Wished there were a few more veggies but the ones it did come with were pretty decent. 4.5 out of 5.0 stars – good stuff! UPC bar code 6920238082026 .

Nongshim Ramen Contest 2008!

This is something called ‘The Nongshim Cup’ and I think they’re playing a game called Go.

#677: Nong Shim Shin Ramyun Shrimp Flavor

My sister was up in Canada at a big grocery store and found this for me! Shin Ramyun Shrimp Flavor! Never heard or seen it before – what a score! Let’s see how it goes with this one!

Here’s the back of the package. This isn’t made in Korea or in the United States – it’s from China and distributed in Hong Kong…

I always like round noodle blocks – don’t ask me why but I love that they fit so snugly in my noodle pot.

Here’s the powdered seasoning packet.

…and the powdered seasoning!

The vegetables packet.

…and its contents.

Finished! I added one egg during cooking, a handful of shrimp and a few dashes of Texas Pete Garlic Hot Sauce. The noodles are awesome – chewy and wide and really slurped up the seasoning. The broth is nice – has a good shrimp flavor and a nice spiciness to it. I liked this a lot – 4.5 out of 5.0 stars! UPC barcode 6920238082026 .

#366: Payless Pancit Shanghai Oriental Style

So here’s something new from Payless – Paincit Shanghai. I’ve had numerous Pancit Canton varieties in the past. Somebody once commented I should try the Shanghai and alluded to it being hot and spicy. We shall see!

So two packets – a funky paste weirdness on the left and the veggies on the right.

Kind of interesting that we have no powdered seasoning with this one like the Payless Xtra Big ones… Hmmm. By the way this is a drain the water off one.

Added two fried eggs. So not too bad but not great. I mean the noodles rocked; I really liked the broad noodles. The seasoning wasn’t  all that impressive though. So basically, I liked it, but I wish there was more and I wish it blew my mind a bit more too. 2.75 out of 5.0 stars.
