#982: Meet The Manufacturer – Sun Noodle Ramen Miso Flavor

Miso is a classic flavor for ramen broths. Miso is a thick paste which is made from fermented soybeans and rice or barley and commonly used in Japanese soups and sauces.

Here is a close-up of the ingredients and directions (click image to enlarge).

The fresh noodle packet. In the pack you get two of these and two of the seasoning packets as well.

The liquid packet.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added sweet onion, green onion, roast pork with a little garlic salt, narutomaki, hard boiled egg and Urashima Sesame & Salt furikake. The noodles are perfectly chewy and plentiful – wow! The broth is great too – nice deep miso flavor. Loving this stuff – 5.0 out of 5.0 stars.UPC bar code 085315400028.

Re-Review: Wei Lih Jah Jan Mien Instant Noodles With Fried Soybeans Paste

Went to the 99 Ranch Market near us a few weeks ago and my son Andy picked this as something he would like to try. Well, today is the day to try it out! The first time I tried this one, I made it completely wrong. Here it is in review #68! Not good!

Back of the package (click to enlarge). Check out the instructions – this isn’t a single bowl of noodles, but rather a bowl of broth and a bowl of noodles that are enjoyed separately.

The noodle block.

The smaller packet, which seasons the broth.

Not a whole lot in this one.

The soybean paste which will coat the noodles.

This makes the noodles end up kind of like Jjajangmen but this is a Taiwanese version.

Here, Andy shows the proper technique: eat some noodles, slurp some soup!

Finished (click image to enlarge). Excellent! The noodles are nice – kind of stick together but that’s not a bad thing really. They have a slightly spicy and salty taste that is really nice. The broth cools the heat (Andy noticed that right away) and has a nice rich flavor. Good stuff – if you haven’t tried it, this is something unique people have really enjoyed. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars!  UPC bar code 4710199050484 .

Here’s a Wei Lih commercial!

The paste is also quite popular on its own – get it here.

#451: Myojo Soybean Paste Flavor Ippei-chan Japanese Style Soup Noodles

Ippei-chan! Sounds awesome to me. I’ve been really stoked on Myojo’s products for a long time – well, excluding the duck flavor stuff of course – that stuff tasted horrid… So let’s have some soybean paste flavor noodles!

Weird – didn’t expect to see something like this! First time it’s been a printed plastic and then a different thing underneath…

I really like these little packages – very unique. From left to right, veggies, soup base (liquid), soup base (dry).

Added a single fried egg. So not bad! Very soybean – sweet and vegetabley-meaty kind of taste. The noodles were good, the broth was good, the right amount of veggies. Good stuff! 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. Get it here.

#336: Six Fortune Instant Noodles With Soup

Here’s a Six Fortune – I think this is their flagship or ‘original’ flavor. Anyways, hope its good!

Hey its all soup base! From top going clockwise: soybean paste, powder soup base, veggies.

The all look so interesting…

Here it is with two eggs boiled with the noodles. I really liked it – it had a nice amount of ginger flavor going on. A lot of noodles in this one. All said and done, a deep and robust flavor. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars!

#295: TableMark Japanese Style Soup Noodle Soybean Paste Flavor

So I found this at a little store at Alderwood Mall called Daiso. The only thing ramen related they had other than cookware.

Veggies and powder…

Interesting veggies – plenty of corn…

Wow this looks really good… When we were purchasing this, the lady at the counter dutifully let us know that all sales were final so be warned. I thought that was odd; I guess I could bring the bowl of noodles back after I had eaten them somehow? Actually no, I’m not going to. I like these. A lot! The soybean paste flavor is excellent! It gets into everything. The noodles were so good and really surprised me in their quality. They had a very nice soy taste! The broth was very rich and tasted nice. As for the veggie, there were more than enough. All around a very enjotable experience! I’m giving this stuff a 4.5 out of 5.0 stars!
