#646: Yamamoto Shoyu Flavor Ramen

Today seemed like a good day for as fancy Japanese bowl of noodles.

Here’s what was on the bottom of the bowl…

Here’s what was on the side of the bowl! Click to enlarge – like all images!

One single packet – I somehow expected multiple packets.

A lot of interesting stuff in the packet.

I thought it’d be good in a regular bowl. I added two fried eggs, some Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning, some Kizami Shoga (pickled ginger), some fried shallot and a little ham. Wow – this is good stuff! Shoyu is soy sauce, by the way. The noodles are pretty decent. The broth is nice and tasty – lots of flavor. The veggies were very ample and enjoyable. I loved it! 4.25 out of 5.0 stars! UPC barcode 4979397770017 .

I don’t like anything to be floating around me in the tub.

#352: Maruchan Chili Flavor Ramen Noodle Soup

So my friend Todd hooked me up with this stuff – thanks man! Haven’t seen this one before, so let’s give it a try.

What a standard single packet of domestic made ramen noodle soup seasoning! This should be interesting enough I think; usually I see hot flavored packets of flavoring out of Korea and Thailand but really not so much out of the USA.

Dark red and angry! Wasn’t expecting that… Was very nice to look at the packet ingredients and see chili as the second one! Impressive…

The finished product. Added a couple hard boiled eggs, some Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning and a little Amanfopong chili powder. Was reasonably ‘hot & spicy’ flavored for a domestic product. It kind of ended there though – would’ve been nice if it had maybe more of a veg flavor too. 2.75 out of 5.0 stars. Get it here.

#297: Rhee Bros Assi Brand Wellbeing Hot & Spicy Rice Noodle With Kimchi Flavored Soup

So here’s another Rhee Bros. Assi Brand Wellbeing noodle pack comin atcha.

I really like how these noodles look – very neat and tidy, as is the flavor packet.

Awaiting boiling water and a record on top.

Added two fried eggs as this was breakfast and also threw a pinch of Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning atop the eggs for a little flavor but mostly aesthetics.

Noodles are good – there’s a decent kick of spicyness going on that is absobed by them. The broth is quite spicy hot, and the small amount of vegetables aren’t too bad. I really would’ve liked more veggies though. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars.
