#934: Nongshim Jinjja Jinjja Flamin’ Hot & Nutty Noodle Soup

I got a couple of these family packs sent as samples from Nongshim America the other day…

I’ve had tons of the version that they sell in Korea, but now they’re making it in the United States – specifically in Rancho Cucamonga, California! Today I’ll give this stuff a try and see if it’s as good as what I’ve tried from Korea.

The back of the package (click to enlarge).

The noodle block.

The powder seasoning packet.

Spicy powder!

Nutty seasoning!

Tastes like peanuts and has black sesame seeds in there.

The veggie packet.

Here are all the seasonings hanging out together.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added some sweet onion. The noodles are great – plentiful and of a nice gauge. The slurp up just the right amount of broth and arrive at a very good consistency and chew. The broth is great – the peanut and spicy elements all combine to make a really fiery as well as hearty combination that is quite enjoyable. The veggies are plentiful and there’s a nice variety of them. This stuff is excellent, just like its Korean counterpart. Nice to see that everyone will get to try this stuff in the USA! 5.0 out of 5.0 stars – wonderful stuff! UPC bar code 031146019526.

Here’s the Korean TV commercial for Jinjja Jinjja. These guys are known as Cultwo.

Here’s some of their Korea radio show.

Samples From Nongshim America!

Hey – a package from Nongshim America – but what’s inside?

This just came out for sale in the USA and I can’t wait to try it! If it’s the same as what they make in Korea (see review), then it’s some serious 5.0/5.0 star stuff. Made for sale here in California! Awesome! Thanks to Ray A. and Hanna C. over at NSA! Might do this review later today!

#918: Nongshim Tempura Udon Flavor Cup Ramyun

Here’s the last of the new Nongshim cups – looks like a good one too!

Here’s a close-up of the lid.

Here’s the information from the side panels (click to enlarge).

The noodle block.

The seasoning powder packet.

Here’s the powder – has a kind of sweetness to it.

Here’s everything that was in the cup as far as veggies go. Lots of nice looking bits of pieces including narutomaki and other goodies!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added odeng, kamaboko, sweet onion, green onion and a pinch of Urashima Sesame & Salt furikake. The noodles are good – a little wider than what you normally see in a cup noodle and not at all spongy. The broth is a sweet and seafood flavor I liked very much. As for the extras like the veggies and narutomaki, it’s superb – they hydrate very nicely. It seemed a little more ‘premium’ than I expected from a little cup noodle and I really liked it a lot! 4.5 out of 5.0 stars.  UPC bar code 031146017096

PSY is now a spokesperson for Nongshim and so I thought I’d throw this in – it’s PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ but as a Halloween light display – just watch it…

A sneak preview of the upcoming Public Television (PBS) Series Kimchi Chronicles starring Marja Vongerichten and Jean-Georges Vongerichten. The series is a food and travel show that discovers Korean food and culture over a 13 episode journey. Guest stars include Hugh and Deb Jackman and Heather Graham.

#913: Nongshim Spicy Shrimp Flavor Cup Ramyun

If you look at review #911, #912 and now #913, I think you can see a theme here. Yeah – shrimp! I don’t usually have any shrimp on hand so I thought I should take advantage of it. This is a new one from Nongshim – spicy shrimp. Let’s check it out!

Lots of spicy powder!

Lots of veggie bits and some shrimp pieces as well.

#907: Nongshim Neoguri Spicy Seafood Flavor Cup

Here’s something new – Neoguri Spicy in a cup! Kind of interesting; Neoguri usually has a wider Udon-like noodle and I don’t know that I’ve seen anything like that in a cup form before. Well, let’s have a look.

Here are the side panels (click to enlarge).

Close up of the lid with preparation instructions.

Sure enough, the noodles are much wider than what you’d find in a regular cup noodle..

Here’s the seasoning packet.

The spicy powder base.

Bits from the bottom of the cup. Looks like kamaboko and seaweed amongst other things of the sea.

A piece of thick seaweed.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added some onions, kamaboko, odeng kimchi, a slice of processed cheese and a little sprinkle of Urashima Sesame & Salt furikake. The noodles are great – they are nice and wide and very hearty. Must say I’ve never seen noodles like these in a cup – unique! The broth is nice – a deep and rich seafood taste and a nice trademark spiciness. The added bits of kamaboko and nori are festive and the big chunk of kelp is very nice too. I grew up in a small town on an island in northwest Washington state and always was close to the ocean – the kelp reminds me of that. All in all a good cup of noodles! 4.0 out of 5.0 stars.UPC bar code 031146017072 .

Here’s a Neoguri commercial for ya!

I challenge this guy, PSY, to a Shin cup eating competition! Oppan Gangnam Style, meet Spicy Ramyun Style!
