#926: Ibumie Penang VegeMee Vegetarian Instant Noodle

Here’s the other new one I saw at 99 Ranch the other day. Sounds interesting… Vegetarian flavor instant noodles often have an odd flavor – we’ll see what this one’s like.

The back of the package (click image to enlarge). I like step two – it says to stir ‘gently.’

The noodle block.

The seasoning powder.

Okay this is odd – I tasted the powder and it tastes like bacon to me!

Vegetable oil and sweet soy sauce.

The soy sauce was extremely thick in this one.

The veggie packet.

Not exactly sure what kind of veggies they are at this point – and the package just says they’re dehydrated vegetables.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added onions, two fried eggs with Cavendar’s Greek seasoning and some Dua Belibis chili sauce. The noodles are a little crumbly and stiff. The broth didn’t end up tasting like bacon so much; kind of a weird vegetable melange. Those dehydrated veggies? They appear to me to be spinach; kind of okay. Not the best that I’ve had from Ibumie. 2.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 850248004069 .

An Ibumie TV commercial for HarMee.

Video about Malaysian street food – looks really good!

#923: Ibumie Penang LadMee Hot Pepper Flavour Instant Noodle

Hey awesome! Went to 99 Ranch yesterday and found a couple I hadn’t reviewed before! With such a drought of new things to review, a couple 69 cent packs were a nice surprise! So here’s Ibumie LadMee from Malaysia!

Here’s the back of the package (click to enlarge).

\Here’s the noodle block.

Here’s an unlabeled largish packet.

A fine, light powder.

Now here’s where it’s kind of confusing; wasn’t the last packet seasoning powder?

This one definitely has a strong pepper taste to it; not chili pepper but more attune to black pepper.

Oil on the left and sweet soy sauce on the right.

They mingle in the cup nicely.

Andy wanted to get some new kinds to try – so he dug into his piggy bank and picked all these out himself.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added chicken with Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning, stir fry veggies and some Dua Belibis chili sauce. The noodles are nice – good chew to them and well mannered insofar as they aren’t cheap or spongy. The broth is interesting; it has a strong pepper taste – not the chili kind but the salt and pepper kind. It’s an interesting experience; not like another black pepper flavored instant I had before but all to its own. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 850248004045 .

This is a pretty odd TV commercial – I like it!

Curry For Lunch

Here’s what I had for lunch (click to enlarge). Some Daddy Kari 365 Curry Flavour Instant Noodles (here’s the original review) that were sent by Jerry W. of Malaysia (thanks again!), sweet onion, thin sliced ribeye, a 2 egg omelet with a slice of processed cheese and some Tabasco Jalapeno sauce and a little bit of Dua Belibis chili sauce on top. Really tasty stuff! By the way – I started a new facebook page here. It’s in protest of the ridiculously large amount of election signs everywhere that look so nasty. Like the page if you agree!

#906: Daddy Kari 365 Instant Noodles Curry Flavour

Here’s the stuff that Jerry W. sent from Sarawak, Malaysia! Thanks again! Ahhh curry – there are very few things I’ve found to be absolutely perfect and one of them is the flavor of curry. Curry’s up there with bacon, hot sauce and garlic! Let’s check out this unique curry noodle variety from Malaysia!

Here’s the back of the package (click to enlarge).

Big chunk of noodle block. The noodles are very thin.

Here’s the seasoning packet.

Upon opening the packet, I was greeted with that wonderful smell – curry. It was really nice! I tasted the powder – oh man! Good stuff!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added sweet onions, stir-fry veggies, a fried egg with Dua Belibis, some baked chicken with Lindberg-Snider Red Baron BBQ Spice, and a little Urashima Sesame & Salt furikake. The noodles are thin and very plentiful – really excellent and  very enjoyable to eat. The broth is absolutely perfect – hands-down! A nice color, very strong curry flavor with a little curry spicy heat to it. If you like curry, this is wonderful and you’ll love it! 5.0 out of 5.0 stars! Wow! UPC bar code 9556158184600 .

This looks really tasty!

#743: Mamee Express Cup Tom Yum Flavour

Here’s one my sis got me in the Vancouver, BC area. Tom Yum’s usually something I like – let’s see!

The distributor’s sticker.

Here’s the lid and it’s info.

Side panel.

The noodle block did not want to come out of the cup! The cup by the way is plastic and the lid is made of foil.

Powder seasoning packet.

…and its contents.

Seasoned oil.

If you’re wondering, what I do is put a little hot water in the little cup and swish it around so I can get the seasoned oil out after the photograph.

Finished. Added a little Huy Fong Sriracha on top. I’m pleasantly surprised! The noodles aren’t bad – better than expected. Tom Yum is usually a spicy, citrussy flavor. They got it right! This is a decent cup! 3.75 out of 5.0 stars! UPC bar code 9555022301235 .

Hey cool – the Malasian noodle festival!
