#869: Vina Acecook Good Bean Vermicelli Chicken Flavour

I’ve got to say, this is some of my favorite packaging. I really like the big drumstick in the picture and the old english exclaiming ‘good.’ I hope it’s good! I’d rather it be better than just good, but I think I’ll just wait and see.

The back of the package (click to enlarge).

The bean thread block.

The seasoning powder.

Salty and chinkenny.

The seasoned oil.

Smells good too.

The veggie packet!

Quite an ample supply of vegetable bits.

Finished. Added hard boiled egg, baked chicken, Krazy Mixed Up Salt and Huy Fong Sriracha hot chili sauce. The noodles are, well, pretty good. They break easily when you purse your lips. The broth is good. Has a great chicken flavor. Only issue is that it has a kind of sting to it – wish I had a better word. Not like the bite of a spicy pepper, but different. The veggies were wonderous. All in all I think this was pretty ‘good.’ I think bean thread is growing on me. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 8934563328115 .

#817: Souper Shrimp Flavor Bowl Ramen

Got this one at a grocery store in Livermore, California called Nob Hill. Pretty rare these days that I find something I haven’t tried in a grocery store!

Detail from lid.

It looks like a noodle burger!

Powdered seasonings.

Wasn’t a huge packet by any means.

Interesting – re-branded Wei Lih bowl perhaps.

Seasoned oil.

Finished. I added some veggies, a couple fried eggs, some Krazy Mixed Up Salt and some Dua Belibis chili sauce. The noodles are a little on the thin side and slightly crumbly, but not bad. The broth is very nice – in the comfort food realm I would say – a nice tasty and a little oily melange. This is pretty good stuff! 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 074601025649 .

San Francisco Veggie Bean huh?

This is a video I made of our drive home from California to the Seattle area. I took a ton of short videos with my digitaol camera and when the battery died I used my cell phone. I then put them in order, added some music and titles in Live Movie Maker, sent to YouTube and used their stabilization filter. Yay!

#385: Ve Wong Hot Of Hots Artificial Black Peppered Beef Flavor Instant Oriental Noodle Soup (Bowl)

So here’s another one of the ‘Hot of Hots’ I found recently. I really have no idea of what to expect with this one…

Powder on the left, thick paste on the right.

Hmm – not so sure about this. That thick paste smells awfully funky…

Added two fried eggs. Well, the noodles were semi-okay, but the broth was weird and funky. After getting past the flavor and smell it was bearable. Long story short, it wasn’t very good. 1.25 out of 5.0 stars.

#326: Namchow Little Cook Instant Noodles TVP Curry Chicken Flavoured

So here’s another of the big ole Little Cook bowls. I would like to say first that curried chicken is one of the favorite things of mine. Let’s see if it’s good.

Here’s the side – yeah its big.

A little packet with some curry soup base seasoning.

Hooray for retort pouch! Full of sauce and vegetables!

Revolutionary and amazing!

Here’s the block of noodles with the curry soup base.

The finished product. Okay first off the pouch contained some interesting stuff. It looks like those little brown round things are supposed to be chicken chunks, although its gotta be textured vegetable protein. The broth is excellent – nice curry flavor for sure. The noodles aren’t bad – nothing special. The veggies are okay too but kind of wish there had been more. Long story short, I liked it! 4.0 out of 5.0 stars.

Jamaican Curry Chicken! Next, your weird video of the day…

#317: Maruchan Yakisoba Cheddar Cheese Flavor Home Style Japanese Noodles

These are some noodles my son Andy got from his Grandpa Gary from California! Andy was kind enough to allow me a bite so I could review them in exchange for preparing them for him.

Here’s some instructions!

This packet was really big and the only one included.

I’m gonig to say that this was about 4 tablespoons of safety orange powder.

So a cup of water and 4 minutes in the microwave and this is what you get. Really good stuff – much like Nissin’s Chow Pasta line; in fact identical. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. Get it here.
